Terms of service

These terms cover the use of this website and what is published on it. Any investigation we carry out for you is arranged separately.

General information, not advice about your building

Everything published on this site, including the service pages, the case studies and the Learn articles, is general information. It is written with care, but it is not an inspection, a diagnosis, a report or professional advice about any particular building.

Buildings differ, and the differences are what an investigation is for. Do not rely on this site alone to decide what is wrong with your building, what should be repaired, or whether a deadline applies to you.

No diagnosis by article

An article can show you what the common patterns look like and which questions to ask. It cannot tell you the cause of a leak or of damp in your building. That takes someone qualified looking at the building and testing it.

If something on this site sounds like your problem, treat it as a starting point for a conversation, not as a finding.

Standards, codes and time limits change

Where we refer to an Australian Standard, the National Construction Code or a time limit set by a regulator, we are summarising it to give you context. Summaries can be wrong and can go out of date. The current published edition or rule is what applies, so check it, or ask someone qualified, before relying on a figure you read here.

HydroIQ investigates. It does not do the repairs.

HydroIQ provides investigation and identification services only: finding where water is getting in and why, and reporting on it. We do not carry out rectification works.

Where repair work is needed, our sister company S&S Remedial carries out rectification works. You are free to use any suitably licensed contractor.

The contact form

Sending an enquiry asks us to get in touch with you. It is not a booking, and it does not create an agreement for us to do any work. How we handle what you send is set out in our privacy policy.

Links to other sites

This site links to our sister company's website and may link to other sites for reference. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what is on them.

Using what is published here

You are welcome to quote a passage from this site with a link back to the page it came from. Please do not republish pages wholesale.

Liability

We work to keep this site accurate and available, but it is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, HydroIQ is not liable for loss that results from relying on general information published here instead of advice specific to your building.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
