HydroIQ investigates waterproofing problems. This page explains what this website collects, what we do with it, and how to have it corrected or removed.

What the contact form collects

When you send an enquiry through the contact form, we receive what you typed into it:

  • your name, email address and phone number;
  • the property type, the service you are interested in and the project location;
  • your description of the problem;
  • how you would like to be contacted, and how you heard about us if you chose to say.

The form sends this as an email to our enquiries inbox. That is how we receive your enquiry and how we reply. The website does not keep its own copy.

Please do not put anything sensitive in the form, such as financial details, identity documents or passwords. A description of the problem and a way to reach you is all we need.

Where your visit came from

When you first arrive, the site makes a short note in your browser's session storage:

  • the page you first landed on;
  • the website that referred you, if there was one;
  • any campaign or advert click identifiers in the link you followed (for example the code Google Ads adds to a link when you click an advert).

That note is kept for the browser session only. It is cleared when you close the tab, it holds no name or contact details, and it is not sent anywhere unless you send an enquiry. If you do, it is added to the end of the enquiry email so we can tell which pages and which adverts produce enquiries.

Analytics and advertising measurement

When they are switched on, this site uses two Google services:

  • Google Analytics 4, to count visits and see which pages are read;
  • Google Ads conversion tracking, to record that an enquiry, a tap on our phone number or a tap on our email address followed a click on one of our adverts.

Both work through Google's tag, and Google may set cookies in your browser to do this. Google handles what it collects under its own privacy policy. When neither service is switched on, the site loads no Google tag at all.

If you reached us by clicking an advert, the ad click identifier from the link you followed arrives with your enquiry and is kept with it. We use it to see which adverts led to genuine enquiries, rather than just clicks.

What we use it for, and who sees it

We use your enquiry to reply to you, to work out whether and how we can help, and, if you engage us, to carry out the investigation. We use the visit and advertising information to understand which pages and adverts are useful to people.

Enquiries are handled in an office system that HydroIQ shares with its sister company, S&S Remedial. That system reads the enquiries inbox and keeps a record of each enquiry: your name and email address, what you wrote, and the visit and advert details described above. The people who answer enquiries work in that system, so they can see your enquiry whether or not repair work is involved.

Other companies process enquiries for us so that this works:

  • the services that host this website and deliver the email the form sends;
  • our email provider;
  • the hosting for the office system and its backups;
  • an AI service that reads each incoming enquiry to sort it and summarise it for the office.

Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia.

HydroIQ investigates and does not carry out repairs. If what you need is repair work rather than an investigation, we may pass your enquiry to S&S Remedial, which carries out rectification works, to follow up with you.

We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

Enquiries stay in our inbox and in the office system so that we can reply and, if you engage us, as part of the record of that work. The visit and advert details that arrived with an enquiry, including any ad click identifier, are part of the enquiry email and are kept for as long as it is. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@hydro-iq.au and tell us which you would like. We will need enough detail to find your enquiry, usually the name and email address you used.

When we delete an enquiry we delete the email and the record of it in the office system. Backups of that system are kept separately and are not edited one record at a time, so a deleted enquiry can remain in backup copies made before the deletion.

Changes to this policy

If what this site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
